Statement on Safeguarding and Protecting Young People

The Royal Tennis Court (RTC) is committed to creating and maintaining the safest possible environment for children and young people to participate in real tennis and recognises its responsibility to safeguard their welfare by protecting them from poor practice, abuse or bullying.

RTC follows the Tennis and Rackets Association safeguarding principles, policy, procedures and guidelines for Safeguarding and Protecting Young People.

The policy and procedures apply to everyone, whether in a paid or voluntary capacity, including professionals and volunteers at RTC. Everyone has a responsibility to safeguard and protect young people.

RTC works very closely with the Historic Royal Palaces (HRP) when dealing with safeguarding issues. When a child or young person is away from the Court but within the Palace grounds, they should be aware of the HRPs Safeguarding Policy and Procedures. Where appropriate, RTCs Child Protection Officer will work with the HRPs Designated Safeguarding Lead.

RTCs Child Protection Officer is Sarah Parsons. If you have any questions or need further support on any issues in relation to safeguarding, welfare and good practice, please contact the Child Protection Officer or one of the professionals.
