Entries open March 27th

Welcome to the King’s Goblet 2026. All the information you need is here.

The tournament takes place at the Royal Tennis Court, Hampton Court Palace, from 18th to 21st June.

Format & entry fee

The King's Goblet is a handicap doubles tournament, open to all real tennis players from any club. There are no restrictions on handicaps - in the past we have welcomed players with handicaps ranging from +3 to 103. All we ask is that you have a non-provisional handicap on RTO.

  • Each pair is guaranteed 5 x 35 minute marked matches in the group stage

  • At the end of the group stage, all pairs are ranked and the top 8 teams enter a knockout phase

  • Chalice Challenge : this popular annual event sees the 8 best players (on handicap) pair up to play eachother for the right to play the RTC Professionals, as fellow players cheer them on. A great chance for the lower handicappers to show what they can do!

  • The entry fee is £155 (£130 for under 26 year olds)

Entry includes

Handicap Doubles Tennis A minimum of 5 x 35 minute matches. All matches are marked by the RTC Professionals.

Friday Evening Chalice Challenge and Pizza Enjoy a glass of Pol Roger and gourmet pizza in the club garden, and watch the 8 best players battle it out for the right to play the RTC Professionals in the Chalice Challenge.

Saturday evening Thames Boat Trip Includes fish and chips.

Lunch is provided on Saturday as well as cakes each day. Lunches on other days are not included, although for Sunday you will be able to sign up for a £10 buffet.

We will try to billet players that ask for it but unfortunately cannot guarantee it at this stage.
